Hey There!
I'm Carly, and I photograph people who enjoy adventure, laugh a lot, and love deeply. (And yes, this includes babies!)
My goal is to create stunning, candid images with an elegant flair through my modern, documentary-style approach to photography. Yep, it's a mouthful, but it's true!
Fun fact: I've lived in Russia, Taiwan, and the USA, and I've traveled to 19 different countries within the past 24 years! I now live in a cute lil’ apartment on Lake Michigan with my husband, Daniel, who also travels with me as my wedding videographer. We love to kayak, cook, hike, and listen to music basically 24/7 together.

It has been such a joy to run this photography business for the past 6 years! I’m a very adaptable, organized person. I work well with clients that are ready to take on the day with a flexible attitude and clear communication. If you don't mind getting a little messy and minimizing the posed moments, then you and I will connect just fine!
Why I Do What I Do
Jesus Christ. I owe everything to Him. He fills my life with peace and joy every single day, and I'm constantly in awe of His creative ability. Photographing people gives more insight into what He is like, which awes me. God has given me amazing clients to work with, and I would not be where I am without Him!
What The Sessions Are Like
Lots of movement! I've found that when families, couples, or kids are doing an activity during a session, I find waaaaaay more opportunities to capture those gorgeous, authentic smiles instead the ones that get plastered on. It's so important that I do my job making you feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, so I also bring a speaker and my Spotify playlists, and you get to pick the genre of music! Though I want you to have the freedom to try different poses, I also provide abundant verbal instruction during the shoot. How Far I Travel
As far as your feet can take you! Seriously, I am all about adventuring with you to create spectacularly memorable images together. If you are planning a destination wedding, please contact me as far in advance as possible!
Which Equipment I Use
My Canon 5D Mark IV is my pride and joy, but ever once in a while I break out my well-loved Canon T3 too. When I'm shooting indoors, my studio umbrella lights and trusty tripod join in on the fun as well!
